The most delicious breakfast with a generous amount of smashed avocado and poached egg, bacon with gorgeous dressing. The zingy freshly squeezed juice gave me the shot of Vitamin D I needed and strong oat latte finished off my delicious breakfast/brunch. Loved the art work and friendly team. Definitely will be returning next time in Chagford.

Popped in on a snowy January morning for a warming coffee. What a wonderful cafe with a lovely new owner. We were delighted to have a thorough chat! Couldn’t have felt more warmly welcomed... and our dog loved it too oh, and of course the coffee was delicious!
A wonderful warm and welcoming cafe, serving the best coffee and hot chocolate around, with delightful homemade cakes and a fantastic breakfast & lunch menu. Fresh, local produce is used, and the owners have clearly made such an effort to source the best ingredients, especially the coffee, which I believe is a local brand. My Dad is a coffee lover and was so impressed. I had a hot chocolate, made with proper chocolate flakes which made for one of the best hot chocolates I've ever had! Chagford itself is such a charming town, so many thriving local businesses in a friendly community. The bird cage is a must if you're in Chagford, and even if you're not, here is your reason to visit! 10/10.

What a totally outstanding place, for sure probably the best scones I have ever tasted. Great service, excellent food, and most surprisingly the price was very competitive. The place is very popular so don't be suprised to wait to be seated. Highly recommended. Dog friendly as well . Incase anyone was intrested the owner said he got the cute milk bottles on amazon. Menu 5/5 Service 5/5 Value 5/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Would i go back? Yes
What a fantastic find on our first visit to the Dartmoor area! The Birdcage is a modern cafe with a homely feel, warm welcome, fabulous coffee (and we are fussy about this), and an excellent selection of food for either breakfast or lunch. If you are in Chagford, I would recommend a visit. If you are near Chagford, I would still recommend a visit.
Passed by this cafe, to grab a breakfast with a few friends, and we were served with kindness, respect and a very good chat. Food and drinks were immaculate, I really recommend this place for a morning breakfast !!
